Almost everyone thinks that Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal is most expensive place of the country but after I went to Khotang district of Nepal, I acknowledged that its not I was wrong. Khotang is one of the remote district of Nepal and I went there for a road survey funded by DRSP(Swiss Project) and undertaken by Aviyaan Consult. It took more than a month to complete the survey for road to be constructed from Rajapani-Simpani to Khotang side of Foxintar. During those days we felt that things are so expensive out there that you can have meals in good hotel with that much of money. Just for plain food(hardly a good dal, bhat tarkari, achar), it costs about 100 rupees, an omelette costs about 25 rupees, a small needle costs about 5 rupees and so on.
But I am sure things will change, and may be we played a part for that. I am sure after construction of the road that we have surveyed, things will become easier and cheaper in those areas of Khotang.
